Latex Care
WHAT TO DO
Ensure to use water-base lubricant or talc on the inside of our garments to aid when dressing as forcing garments on without lubricant can cause the latex to rip.
To shine garments, we recommend using latex polish. This will keep your garments in the optimal condition as it cleans and nourishes the latex. Spray some polish onto a sponge and wipe this over the garment.
Re-talc the garment after wear, which will dry clean the garment and will also prevent a moist garment from sticking to itself and later result in possible ripping when unpeeled.
Store the items in a dark place (e.g. a closet) with a garment cover. Hang them up to avoid creases.
If your garments become particularly dirty, you can wash them. Simply add a small amount of washing up liquid to lukewarm water. Then gently handwash the item. After that, rinse away the soap with fresh water. Gently dry your item with a towel and apply polish to the outside. Use talc on the inside of the garment to avoid layers getting stuck together.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Never use nails to adjust or put latex on as it can create permanent dimples and can create tears. Only use the tips of your fingers to dress in and adjust latex. To get rid of any excess wrinkles, gently roll your hands across any air bubbles.
Always keep latex out of direct sunlight and any UV sources. There are UV protective polishes available on the market which would enable you to wear the latex out during the day but this must be done at your own risk.
To avoid discolouration store light and dark coloured latex items separately.
Metals, piercings and jewellery can stain light coloured latex.
Any oil based products like fake tan, perfume, baby oil or moisturisers can also stain latex so refrain from using these before wearing your garment.
Heat will damage the latex. Do not try to iron it.
Latex is not machine washable nor is it dry cleanable.
Disclaimer! Do not wear latex if you have a latex allergy!
